Positive Homemaking
Homemaking can be pretty tedious and overwhelming.
However, These tips are here to help. these proven tips are here to help you make homemaking more positive and less overwhelming every single day.
Be grateful. An attitude of gratitude can turn any situation around. When we have piles of dirty dishes and laundry, let’s be grateful anyway because it means that we have food to eat and clothes to wear. Some people have neither. This change in perspective can really help us to love homemaking and be grateful for all that we do have.
Find joy in the small things. Focus on the small moments of joy in your homemaking. Take pleasure in folding your freshly washed laundry, or savor the smell of a delicious dinner you’ve cooked. These small moments of pleasures can help to keep us grounded and motivated to continue homemaking.
Set goals. Small goals can help you stay motivated and on track. Whether it’s tidying up for 10 minutes a day, or decluttering your living space, having something to work towards will make homemaking more enjoyable.
Involve your family. If you can, involve your family in your homemaking tasks. Delegating tasks to family members can help lighten the load and make it more enjoyable. I know this is not always possible as moms of littles. But even my now three year old, has had small chores since before the age of 2. At almost 2 he would help unload the dishwasher. And since 2 his chores include things such as wiping the windows and swishing the toilet. He enjoys all of this and the more they see it, the more they want to get involved. So do what you can and let them practice.
Make it cozy. Making your home cozy is one practical thing you can do today to help have a positive homemaking experience. Create a cozy ambiance for your home with scented candles, soft blankets, and comfortable furniture. Be sure to check out thrift stores to make sure you are staying within the budget.
Pamper yourself. Take time to pamper yourself. Make a cup of tea and relax in your favorite chair, or take a bubble bath with a good book. Taking breaks and pampering yourself is crucial for positive homemaking.
Celebrate your successes. Be sure to celebrate your successes and accomplishments. Whether it’s finally decluttering your closet or organizing your pantry, give yourself a pat on the back for the hard work you’ve done. You are doing an amazing job mama!
Make time to plan meals, grocery shop, and cook. These activities will cause your week to be less overwhelming and a lot more positive. Since these things will be on autopilot it is one less thing on our plate.
Declutter and organize your home to make it more enjoyable to be in. Doing this will cause us to be more relaxed at home thus contributing to positivity. This will then trickle down to everything else we do causing us to have a more positive homemaking experience.
Keep a garden and grow plants for a bit of nature in your home. This is super easy and affordable to do. Now is the perfect time to begin planting summer veggies. These seeds sprout quickly and work wonderfully. You don’t need a lot of space either if you use a gardening table such as this.
Show hospitality and host gatherings for family and friends. Showing hospitality is a great way to enjoy homemaking. The fruits of our labor can be enjoyed by others and that is pretty special. It might also motivate them to put effort into having a positive homemaking experience as well.
