7 Habits of Great Homemakers
Good homemaking habits are essential for keeping your home organized, efficient and comfortable.
This practical guide is for every homemaker. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been a homemaker for years, developing and maintaining good homemaking habits will make your home a pleasant place to be.
Here are some tips to get you started on creating positive homemaking habits:
1. Create a Cleaning Schedule. Cleaning is a necessary task, and having a schedule helps to make it more manageable. Create a daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule that allows you to do a deep clean of your home while keeping it tidy in between.
2. Develop a Meal Plan. Planning meals ahead of time helps you save time and money. Choose meals that can be prepped in advance, so you can spend less time in the kitchen and have more time to spend with your family. For more money saving shop your fridge and pantry first.
3. Make a To-Do List. Having a to-do list helps you keep track of tasks and prioritize them. It can also help you stay organized and motivated. Not only that it’s super fun to check off items as we get them done.
4. Plan for Laundry. Doing laundry can be a time consuming task. Create a laundry plan to help you stay on top of it. Sort your laundry into whites, darks and colors and designate certain days for washing and drying. I do a small load a day and it works well for my family of four (two toddler boys). Do what ever works best for your family.
5. Keep Your Home Organized. Being organized helps to make your home run more efficiently and makes cleaning and tidying up easier. Invest in storage solutions and make sure everything has a place.
6. Take Time for Yourself. It’s important to make time for yourself, too. Make sure you have time to relax and unwind after a long day.
7. Start your day off right. Take some time to plan out your day and set aside specific tasks that you want to accomplish. This can help you stay on track and prevent you from getting overwhelmed.
By following these tips, you can create positive homemaking habits. These habits will not only help you keep your home clean and organized, but will make the process fun as well.
