Holidays can break the bank, but they don’t have to!

Here are some fun budget friendly activities you can do this holiday season:

1. Volunteer - Volunteering is so much fun and can help others as well. Volunteering does not have to cost a penny (if you sign up with an organization) but you will be blessing so many others. If you have a few dollars to spare make a pie or a care basket for the less fortunate. Giving brings so much joy, and we can truly make a difference in doing so.

2. Have a potluck - Have your friends and family bring over their favorite dishes for an affordable way to have a holiday meal. Each person should bring 1 dish to share. It is a good idea to keep track of who is bringing what as to not have many duplicate items.

3. DIY decorations - This year decorate with things you have at home already, or get crafty with some construction paper and sparkles and make your own ornaments. They will be extra special and all you need is a bit of creativity.

4. Host a holiday movie night- Hosting a movie marathon can be quite fun and frugal. With so many affordable streaming services out there, just use what you already have. Bonus if you have some homemade snacks. Now, the only thing left to decide is if “The Godfather” is a holiday movie or not.

5. Make some homemade gifts - This one is really special because they will be one of a kind homemade and there will be none like it anywhere. This special gift comes from the heart and really shows your loved ones that you were thinking of them. No bank breaking necessary

6. Have a holiday-themed game night - Game night is one of the most fun frugal things that you can do. Organize a game night and have affordable fun. Bonus if you make it holiday themed think ugly Christmas sweaters or holiday hats. If you have some holiday games include those as well.
